Went out walking trails in Knox County today, saw quite a few nota Went out walking trails in Knox County today, saw quite a few notables. First started at the Mohican Valley Trail in Danville, where at least 50 Black Vultures were roosting in trees along the trail entrance. Also seen and heard were: Yellow-rumped Warbler Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Vesper Sparrow (heard) Scarlet Tanager (heard) Moved down the trail to Mickley Rd/Tiger Valley Rd access area and heard/saw: Vesper Sparrow (heard) Baltimore Oriole Red-eyed Vireo Kentucky Warbler (heard, could not locate the bird) Then finally came to the Bridge of Dreams: Yellow-throated Warbler (two seen) Blue-gray Gnatcatchers Carolina Chickadees Wood Thrush Northern Parula (heard) Took a short break from the rain and then decided to hit the Kokosing Gap Trail in Gambier at the Brown Family Environmental Center. Eastern Towhees (numerous) Blue-winged Warbler Northern Parula (seen and heard throughout the first half mile) Field Sparrow Yellow Warbler (heard) Happy Birding, Amber Hart Howard, OH Amber Hart "Intelligent dogs rarely want to please people whom they do not respect." - William R.
