As a follow-up to the recent post by Laura Dornan, I was also at the same
blue grosbeak site mid-morning today with the opposite results. I spent ~30
minutes there, but did not see any blue grosbeaks. However, there was a
grasshopper sparrow singing regularly from the top of a rose tangle there.
Also, further back north up Stingy Rd. immediately across the road from a
log yard, I saw one lark sparrow on the ground in the gravel parking area.
All this just goes to show that everything depends on when you are at a
particular spot - even it is the "right" spot!  Randy Rowe, Wooster
