While surveying for breeding birds yesterday around lower Hoover reservoir, I had a few late landbird migrants/stragglers unexpectedly show up. I mostly focused on areas around the dam, and had lots of expected residents, but the list also included: Swainson's Thrush - 1 calling along the Hoover Nature Trail, which seems a rather late date. Magnolia Warbler - 1 singing male just below the dam. They don't breed anywhere near here. Yellow Warblers - several below the dam, where they nest only sparingly. Hooded Warbler - 1 singing along the Hoover Nature Trail, where they have no history of breeding. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
