Quick stops at both of these forest preserves found little in the way of migrants, and a surprising number of still-singing residents. Notables included:

Cooper's hawks - a pair of juveniles were flying around Thoreau Lake at Blendon, and another was calling at Gahanna Woods
Pileated Woodpeckers - calling at both the Lake Trail and the Sugarbush Trail in Blendon
Acadian Flycatchers - calling at both the Streamside Trail in Blendon and in Gahanna Woods
Gr.Crested Flycatchers - 2 calling along Lake Trail at Blendon
Red-eyed Vireos - singers in many different locations at both woods
Wood Thrush - calling on the Streamside and Sugarbush Trails at Blendon
Hooded Warblers - singing along Lake Trail, calling on Sugarbush Trail at Blendon
Summer Tanager - 1 calling around the Nature Center parking area at Blendon
Field Sparrows - many singers in different meadows at Blendon
