Had a good morning at the East Metropark from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Black-crowned night heron - immature in same location as posted yesterday.
Flew when we weren't looking and were unable to locate it again.

The following shorebirds were visible from the north end of the lake and
could easily be seen with binoculars on the closest mudflats to the parking
area:

Bald eagle - immature (sitting on a dead branch in a cottonwood tree
looking south across the water). Got to watch it catch a fish and enjoy
breakfast.
Lesser and greater yellowlegs
Pectoral sp
Semipalmated sp
Least sp
Solitary sp
Spotted sp
Killdeer
Great egrets
Great blue herons
Green herons
Belted kingfishers
DC cormorants

Good birding,
Ed and Bev Neubauer, Kurt Stein, Kathy Groves
