Hello all, Upon returning from nearly a week hiatus, I stopped to check Camp Perry Beach this evening, 3 September, between 6:30 and 7:00 PM as part of our regular shorebird survey. Almost immediately, I spotted a first-summer/ retarded second-cycle Franklin's Gull swimming in the water just off of the beach. There was also a second cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull loafing with Herrings on the pier itself. Between the beach and lake, I estimated at least 6,500 Ring-billed Gulls and no fewer than 300 Herring Gulls. Good birding, Justin -- Justin Bosler Port Clinton, OH ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
