The long thin line that passed through northern Ohio prior to the storms
hitting was part of the storm system. They mentioned it on the news last
night and had a name for it. I knew I should have written it down. My son
and I were out about the time it went through and we had a large branch come
down.

There have been a ton of green darners around and I have seen some large
passing flocks of chimney swifts. I was at a closed are along the Chagrin
in Willoughby Hills Tuesday and had about 1,500 chimney swifts feeding over
a new wetland. I also had a couple soras, a flyby northern harrier, and a
single LeContes Sparrow.

Just a point on the mystery critters. I'm by no means a dragonfly authority
but do darners actually migrate at night? I was under the impression they
were diurnal or maybe crepuscular but not nocturnal.
The time on the radar site indicates that it was well after dark.
