Sensing that a fallout is on the way, I checked Hoover Dam after work between 3-3:30 PM, and despite the time, found migrants in the forest patches below the dam. The total included Ruby-thr.Hummingbirds 2 E.Wood Pewee 2 Acadian Flycatcher Warbling Vireos 2 Red-eyed Vireo Swainson's Thrush Gray Catbird 5 Cedar Waxwings 10 Tennessee Warbler Magnolia Warbler Cape May Warbler Blackpoll Warblers 2 American Redstart This is an unusually good total for this site in the afternoon, so we may be in the midst of a good migrant wave. Waterbirds above the dam were less exciting, but did include 12 cormorants, 100 Ring-billed Gulls, and 2 Herring Gulls. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
