He and I have had some correspondence about a way to get data from eBird that doesn't do exactly what he wants, but comes close. A while ago, Zachary DeBruine created a gadget, BirdTrax, that can be embedded in a web site which displays recently reported data from eBird. I included Zachary's gadget on the Ohio eBird Hot Spot web site: http://ohioebirdhotspots.wikispaces.com/Birding+in+Ohio By default, the BirdTrax gadget shows the rare birds reported in Ohio in the last week. You can click on "Sightings" within the gadget to see all the birds reported in the last week. You can click on a bird name to see all the locations where that bird has been reported. You can click on a location name to see a full list of all the birds reported at that location in the last week. On each county page I have included a BirdTrax gadget that displays the birds seen in the county in the past month. By default the county version is set to show all bird sightings, because in many counties no rarities are being reported. You can click on "Rarities" and they will display if any have been reported. If you use BirdTrax in conjunction with the eBird site, you should be able to get a good picture of where birds are being reported in Ohio. BirdTrax is not currently embedded in the eBird web site, so you need to go to the Ohio eBird Hot Spot web page to view the birds in Ohio.
