Today at 4:45 PM I saw an immature Rough-Legged Hawk on the south side of Kuhlwein Rd at the Darby Wetlands- it was perched on a tree along the road and flew off slowly when I pulled my car over and got out to get photos of it. Perhaps the wetlands here are attractive territory for this bird- this species is apparently uncommon in this area, and this is an early date to see one (compared to previous winter sightings). Also around a dozen Rough-Winged Swallows were perched on the telephone wires along Kuhlwein Rd. Here's the eBird report with a photo- http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15507241 Good birding, ~Tracy the Birder http://seasonsflow.wordpress.com ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
