I checked out Townline Park in North Perry this afternoon. This is a restricted access park just east of me. They have a small harbor and I thought maybe there would be some waterfowl or ducks taking refuge. Not much in the harbor, but I did have 2 PURPLE SANDPIPERS out on the breakwall. They disappeared in the rocks and may have later flown as I was unable to relocate them. I watched the waterfowl flying by for about an hour. It was 100% red-breasted mergansers. I only had 53 Bonaparte's gulls this morning. In the hour I was there I saw over 300 Bonaparte's pass by. Of note was an adult LITTLE GULL. With the winds and cold weather tonight, the lake should really be active tomorrow morning.
