I tried to do my Waterbird survey at my home in North Perry this morning but a steady rain made for a real quiet morning. I saw a few gulls fly by and had 6 horned grebes on the lake. Around 9:30 or so the rain cleared out and there was a lot of movement, most was out pretty far. I saw numerous flocks of ducks far out and a few loons. There were some birds that were not too far out and I was able to get a few small flocks of red-breasted mergansers, bufflehead, and scaup. Of note were 2 PURPLE SANDPIPERS flying west together. Also of note was a PARASITIC JAEGER. It harassed a feeding flock of Bonaparte's gulls a couple times before heading west. The action was pretty quick and by 10:30 only a few scattered Bonaparte's gulls were flying west. By 11:00 things were done totally.
