Didn't see anyone else post about this. A few hardy hopefuls were at Inniswood Sunday AM. I arrived around 10AM & left w/o seeing the bird a bit after noon. According to a ranger, the feeder warmer set-up was installed Sunday around 7AM & the bird was not seen then either.

Hopefully, it tanked up & left overnight for warmer climes to avoid the snowfall this week. Would prefer that thought that it not waking from torpor or taken by a predator...

I was a bit puzzled why the warmer/light was on all morning when it was well above freezing. I was also a bit concerned when I thought I heard the ranger read off the temp as 66C which would be 150F, awfully warm for the sugar water & likely to ferment it. Hope I heard incorrectly.

At any rate, all moot if the hummer is gone.

Was out mostly for photos but did have good looks at one Barred Owl at Blacklick. Easier to see now that the leaves are down. Also had good looks at a Pileated WP there also but relatively quiet overall. Some Wood Ducks at the pond.
