Hi all, After a rainy and otherwise uneventful drive around Franklin Co. looking for Snowy Owls, we stumbled up the SWACO Landfill gulls taking an afternoon break on the small pond NE of where London-Groveport Rd. crosses Interstate 71. A 1st cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull dropped in as we were about to leave, took a bath, rested on the ice for a minute or two, then circled up and headed back towards the landfill. Photos of the bird are at http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15964403. Hopefully it spends some time a bit farther north tomorrow, and makes an appearance for the Columbus CBC! :-) Good birding, -Paul Hurtado -- Paul J.
