There is a cackling goose in with one of the two large flocks of Canada Geese at LaDue Reservoir. Dick Hoopes spotted it and pointed it out to me late this afternoon. Along with other suggestive traits, small feel of bill, shorter neck seen in flight, and the skinniest pencil legs imaginable on a goose, I was convinced of the id when I saw it swimming alongside mallards. This little goose was virtually the same size as the ducks.
