When it wasn't snowing hard, there was a nice movement of birds.
Unfortunately around 830 it started snowing and things slowed down a bit.
Occasionally the snow would let up and you could see birds further out.
There was a good movement of big gulls overhead.  When the snow started they
thinned out quite a bit.  I was seeing some interesting gulls so I paid
attention to the overhead movement.  It paid off when a snowy owl flew over
at treetop height heading west.  It is a first for my waterbird surveys and
the second time from the yard.  Also of interest was a killdeer that came in
off the lake and headed south.  I also found Iceland, glaucous, and lesser
black-backed gulls.
