Since Thanksgiving, I’ve seen two Sandhill Cranes in North Ridgeville every single day on my way to and from work. Easily visible from your car. No need for scopes or binoculars. No need to brave the elements. Drive by birding at its finest. I’ve posted in the past about these birds, but I figured I’d re-post for Christmas Bird Counts and for whatever personal bird count you might be doing. Birds are located in a corn field on the West side of Race Road, just ¼ mile south of Center Ridge Road in North Ridgeville. The corn field is actually behind a restaurant called Kim’s Restaurant. Most days, best viewing is from Race Road, but last week, it was easier to view from the parking lot of Kim’s Restaurant looking south. There is an abandoned tractor or bulldozer in the corn field. If you are going to look for these birds and you have any problems finding them, email me off list. I’m usually in the area. Good luck! Spencer A.
