I think the point being that if the bird is that bad off, a re-habber or wildlife expert should be called. Some times our best intentions are not the ideal solution. And feeding any bird in a road not a great idea. I often wondered what harm or good basic bird feeders do and honestly I am torn on that. If someone feeds an owl a few mice and the owl subsequently makes it through the winter that it would not have survived I say, More power to them." We should ask the owl which he or she prefers.
