Currently there is a Ross's goose sitting on the ice north of the dam at Hoover Reservoir. The best spot to see it is just up the road from the dam at the parking lot "area a." At the access across Sunbury road from where Maxtown road connects to it (red bank marina boat launch?) I had an immature Glaucous Gull. Also here I had a raft of Canvasback and all 3 merganser species. A highlight this morning that may be of interest to January listers was a Brown Thrasher at Blacklick Woods Metro park. This bird was coming to the feeders behind the lodge. To get there park in the lot near the Ashton pond and instead of walking to the pond go the other way. Very quickly you will arrive at the lodge. The feeders are fairly obscured but there are typically a lot of birds around them and it is easy to watch birds coming to and from the feeders from the path. Good birding!
