Iceland, not Glaucous. :-) Why? The bill on this bird has an overall dark, smudgy appearance -- all the way to the base of the bill. This is expected on Iceland, which have dark bills with hints of pink showing up in the bill base as winter progresses. Glaucous, however, should have an all pinkish/pale base out to about 2/3 of the bill length, and a cleanly demarcated black tip (or a black band, in some older immatures). Carl's bird is very likely the same immature Kumlien's Iceland Gull that was there yesterday. There are a few metered parking spaces here.
