The Ohio Cardinal will probably have the final count of this remarkable
red-necked grebe invasion, but from what I hear ground zero is lakes in
far eastern mountainous Tennessee.  Today one observer reported the
following from Sullivan County: at Boone Lake: 137 RN grebes, 28 horned,
and from S. Holston Lake 83 red-neckeds and 41 horned! It would be
interesting to hear theories of why TN should so far outdistance OH in
this respect...
