I've been watching what appeared to be an established Great-blue Heron Rookery for about a month and 1/2 and until today have not seen any herons near the nests. Many nests are built high in sycamore trees growing along the East Fork of the Little Maimi River north west of the intersection of Rt 32 and McKeever Pike. Today there were two herons sitting on nests and one sitting on a branch among the nests. The rookery is visible from Rt 32., go south on McKeever, park in the pull off and walk along the hill south of the ditch on 32. You can see the nests in the Sycamore tree lining the river to the North West.
