After seeing a distant vee over Mogadore, I continued to West Branch SP. The west end, along OH 14, is open. North of Knapp Rd, nine tundras were in the creek, and 85 ring-necked ducks were to the south. An adult bald eagle passed over.

At the east end, 60+ swans resting on the ice out from the marina were joined by a contingent of similar number. A pileated called and 30+ cedar waxwings were along the drive.

On the way home, about 5:00, two tundra swans were among 50+ redheads which remain at Suffield Aggregate on US 224. This is the first year I have seen any interesting birds on this quarry pond.

Peace,
Gregory Bennett
