I received a few requests for directions and viewing advice for the Bexley YCNH nest site, so I thought I should reply to the list. For directions to 211 Preston Rd, see the "map" link at the top of the ebird checklist below, which takes you to a google map you can use to get directions. Also note the nearby side streets on the map, Dale Ave in particular. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S17882714 The nest is in a tall sycamore at 211 Preston, just south of and across the street from Dale Ave. Best views are from just NORTH of Dale Ave or farther south of the nest -- far enough from the nest that you can see on top of it. A scope is useful, but not necessary. The bird may roost elsewhere and if we're lucky enough to have them nest here again this year, they should be around for a few months! So no rush ;-) I highly recommend viewing from your vehicle or a safe distance away so as to minimize disturbing the bird(s). Lastly, please respect the residents on Preston Rd and let them know why you're there if they seem interested. Sharing a look through your optics, and/or cracking open a field guide for the locals is highly encouraged! :-) Like it or not, you are an ambassador for the rest of us when you interact with them as a birder. Might as well make the best of it ;-) Good Birding, Paul Hurtado ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
