This evening brought two more FOS arrivals to our next of the woods outside of Albany: Indigo Bunting and Yellow-breasted Chat (had fantastic looks at this stunning fellow). In addition, I had a very chatty Marsh Wren who seemed to think our soggy fields seemed like a suitable spot to put down for the evening. He found a good place to hide in the underbrush, but I was able to steal a few good looks. This is a first for our road for as long as I've been keeping track (about 8 years). I'm only expecting about a handful more species, and then we'll be up to our full compliment of usual nesting species. Heather Aubke Albany, Athens Co.
