FINALLY Lawrence Woods is waking up..and with a vengeance. Vireos, Warblers, Scarlet Tanagers, and Bobolinks are finally here. Still missing are Prothonotary, Hooded, Blue-winged Warblers, and any of those that I might as well not mention due to the absence of available parking space when I go next time...:-D These are definitely new migrants. When I went earlier in the week, it was COMPLETELY quiet. Today, it was like an Orchestra warming up for a symphony...my ears need a break!. :-D Heading up towards Magee tomorrow to hang out with everyone on Saturday. If anyone gets an Orange-crowned or Pine Warbler up there today or tomorrow, please let me know...those are my two goal birds for the trip...Orange-crowned especially. My list is below...I love eBird. :-D Happy Birding, and God Bless, Steve J. www.sjlarue.com Lawrence Woods State Nature Preserve, Hardin, US-OH May 8, 2014 9:11 AM - 1:16 PM Protocol: Traveling 2.0 mile(s) Comments: Submitted from BirdLog NA for Android v1.9.3 51 species Canada Goose 4 Wood Duck 2 Ring-necked Pheasant 1 Wild Turkey 1 Turkey Vulture 6 Killdeer 2 Mourning Dove 4 Red-bellied Woodpecker 2 Downy Woodpecker 2 Pileated Woodpecker 1 Acadian Flycatcher 2 Great Crested Flycatcher 6 Yellow-throated Vireo 3 Warbling Vireo 1 Red-eyed Vireo 2 Blue Jay 2 American Crow 2 Tree Swallow 2 Carolina Chickadee 2 Tufted Titmouse 2 White-breasted Nuthatch 3 House Wren 3 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2 Hermit Thrush 2 American Robin 2 Gray Catbird 3 European Starling 2 Ovenbird 3 Tennessee Warbler 2 American Redstart 10 Cerulean Warbler 6 Northern Parula 6 Magnolia Warbler 5 Blackburnian Warbler 2 Palm Warbler 5 Yellow-rumped Warbler 6 Black-throated Green Warbler 4 Eastern Towhee 3 Chipping Sparrow 4 Field Sparrow 8 Song Sparrow 6 White-throated Sparrow 2 Scarlet Tanager 4 Northern Cardinal 5 Bobolink 6 Red-winged Blackbird 20 Eastern Meadowlark 4 Common Grackle 2 Baltimore Oriole 2 American Goldfinch 6 View this checklist online at http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S18285929 ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
