There could be a good arrival of migrants tomorrow morning, Wednesday the 21st, in the Magee Marsh area and other migrant traps near Lake Erie in NW Ohio. At about 10:40 Tuesday night, the radar picture shows a major amount of bird migration happening in areas just to the south of us; at the same time, thunderstorms are moving in from the west, and probably will reach this area by about 4 in the morning. So good numbers of migrants could be put down by the weather. It's likely to be raining, but in between storms the birding could be excellent. It's not guaranteed -- if the storms shift course, or arrive earlier, the migration could be a bust. But at the moment, conditions look promising. I wrote a post about this several hours ago (including advice on looking for Connecticut Warbler, the classic late-May grail bird), and so far, tonight's weather seems to be lining up to match the earlier forecast.
