I stopped at 2 sites in this north Columbus suburb -- Antrum Lake and Rush Creek Ravines -- looking for late migrants, but with little success. Interestingly, the ravines held more late migrants than the riparian forest at Antrum. Included among the notable birds were Barred Owl - one adult was being mobbed by small birds at Antrum Flycatchers - lots of Pewees at both sites (6-8 each), many of which are likely late migrants. No empidonax at either site. Vireos - Red-eyed at both sites, likely residents, while Antrum Lake had 7-8 singing Warbling Vireos (also residents). Thrushes - little other than Robins, with only 2 laggard Swainson's, both in the ravines Mimids - plenty of Catbirds at both sites, but nothing else Warblers - resident Parula & Yellow-throated were at Antrum, while the ravines held late Chesnut-sided, Black-thr.Green, and 2 Redstarts Orioles - 5+ singing Baltimore Orioles were at Antrum ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
