I stopped at Kuhlwein Rd wetlands and Clover Cemetery Wetlands this morning, as well as nearby Prairie Oaks MetroPark, and had some interesting birds before the heat really kicked in. Included among these were American Bittern - 1 was croaking in one of the wetlands north of Kuhlwein Rd Great Egret - singles were at both the Clover Cemetery Wetlands and Kuhlwein wetlands Blue-winged Teal - one flew over and into one of the far pools along the bikepath north of Kuhlwein Rd Spotted Sandpipers - at least 2 were doing display flights along the bikepath south of Kuhlwein Rd. E.Meadowlarks - common along the Darby bikepath and at the entrance to Prairie Oaks Sycamore Plains Dickcissel - at least one was calling in the grasslands south of Kuhlwein Rd early Vesper Sparrow - 1 was singing in the treeline along the bikepath south of Kuhlwein Rd Warblers - Yellows & ComYellowthroats were widespread in several wetland and prairie areas. Yellow-throateds were singing at both the US 40 bridge over Darby Creek and at Sycamore Plains Trail, while a Parula was singing at Sycamore Plains trail. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
