Spent a pleasant morning at Frohring Meadows, trying to locate the semipalmated plover found by Linda Gilbert yesterday. Never did see it, but there were two least sandpipers and four solitary sandpipers in the new wetland area, along with lots and lots of killdeer. Also using the wetland were two green and two great blue herons. Still a few bobolinks and a meadowlarks in the fields, and just clouds of barn swallows. The old wetland is pretty much vegetated on both sides of the little dam.
