Buster Banish and I birded Conneaut Sandspit this evening. We had eight
species of shorebirds: 8 Semipalmated Plovers, 4 Killdeer, 1 Willet, 1
Sanderling, 1 Baird's Sandpiper, 8 Least Sandpipers, 8 Semipalmated
Sandpipers, and 3 Short-billed Dowitchers. No sign of any avocets, buffy,
or knot unfortunately. There were also some Bonaparte's Gulls and a couple
Caspian Terns, plus two Common Mergansers seen fishing west of the
sandspit. Chris Swan told me they have been seen the past couple days
recently.
