The Little Gull was on the Alum Creek Beach circa 1:30 to 2:30 PM today
(Wednesday). We first saw it sitting with a large flock of gulls on the
beach not far from the parking lot. It flew before we got much of a
look at it and we walked on a ways looking for a Forster's tern (found
one sitting next to a Caspian tern--what a size difference!). As we
walked back in the direction of the parking lot the Little Gull was back
all by itself at the water's edge. Other birders watched it with us.
It did not fly away even when a family with small children plopped down
in front of it but merely walked away. So the bird seems to be taking
flight now and then but coming back.
