I stopped by 2 isolated wooded parks today in the NE Columbus suburbs and stumbled onto these two boreal flycatchers. The Olive-sided was in a snag by the pond in Boyer Nature Preserve, in Westerville. The Yellow-bellied was calling from the pine woods in Gahanna Woods (in the area north of the State Nature Preserve). Add in some Pewees, Acadians, and a Willow at Gahanna Woods, and it was a productive day for small flycatchers. Little in the way of other obvious migrants, however, at either locations, though Gahanna Woods did have a Green Heron (out of place) and a young Redstart (out of season). ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
