We saw the Highland County swallow tailed kite both from about 9:30 to 10:45 this morning (8/23) and again for a while around 12:30 to 1:00. Earlier it foraged low for a bit close to the south side of New Vienna Road providing spectacular close up views but after resting on a snag far from the road it headed south and we found it again off Jones Rd. When we returned after a lunch break, it was flying high on either side of New Vienna Road road and swooping quite a bit. It seems safe to go looking for it today but it is moving over quite an area so some patience may be required. Many birders were parked by the road when we left. Wonderful bird!
