Hi all, John Richardson just called, and asked me to relay the following. He spotted what he thinks might be a Swallow-tailed Kite along the north side of Interstate 670, just before the Grandview Avenue exit. This is on the east side of Columbus. At that point there is a wide sluggish bend in the Scioto River, and much marshy ground, open fields, and tall trees and snags. The bird was atop a snag. John could not stop for better viewing, but thought that the bird should be followed up on. His sighting took place about 10 am.
