Birders, I have just gotten home after a long trip through eastern Ohio where I banded two Rufous Hummingbirds. One was the adult male that has been posted to this list previously in Monroe County that has been present since about October 5. The second Rufous is an adult female that has been coming to a feeder near Kinsman, Trumbull County, since about October 16. I have not gone through Bill Whan's compilation for the state to be sure, but I suspect this may be the first confirmed Rufous Hummingbird for Trumbull County. The homeowners, Robin Gruver and her husband, are willing to allow birders to visit to view the bird, but prefer that they be contacted by email to arrange a visit. So I will not provide the exact location here. Robin's email address is: [log in to unmask] I have been attempting to schedule a visit to another location in Ashland, but the homeowners schedule and mine haven't been able to mesh yet, and I don't know if they're going to allow visitors. I just wanted to mention this as it is at this point the only other Rufous/Allen's Hummingbird I know about in Ohio. Allen T.
