I stopped by Simms Park in east Cleveland yesterday afternoon to see if any
scoters were there. There were thousands and thousands of red-breasted
mergansers just offshore flying and massing on the surface. Rather amazing
concentration.

In addition, I did find one female/immature surf scoter, one male pintail
duck (that seemed surprising), a small group of 5 common goldeneye, and
several horned grebes.

I also stopped at Eastlake power plant where there were hundreds of
bonaparte's gulls, and many cormorants, but not much else.
