At about 5:30 pm, there was an adult Iceland Gull bathing in the open water near the ice. This pond was nearly two thirds open water this evening. This Iceland Gull was apparently the same bird reported yesterday evening (?) by Eric Evert. This is a very beautiful Iceland Gull with all white primaries and an all yellow bill. Shortly after I found it with a relatively small flock of Ring-billed and Herring Gulls, the Iceland Gull took off and flew southeast. Shortly thereafter, a large flock of gulls was flying north to the east of the pond and E River Road and flying over the brewery plant (Heidelberg) at the intersection of E River Road and Dryden Road. There was a flock of 13 Redheads near the northern end of the pond.
