There has been a male Hybrid (Spotted X Eastern) Towhee at the Scioto Audubon in downtown Columbus. I first saw him on 02/17/15 and he has been present through the weekend. He has been working the leaf litter between the observation decks. The call is certainly a Spotted and the field marks are, too. However, the small patch of white at the base of the primaries indicated hybridization with Eastern Towhees.
