Landfills in winter, especially now that lake erie is mostly frozen, can attract uncommon gulls, as great & lesser black-backs, glaucous, and possibly Iceland & Thayer's, plus who knows what else? Yesterday, I had two adult great black-backed gulls at the Richland County Noble road landfill. Birders are not permitted on the property, I know, I tried to get permission. Noble road does not get much traffic east of the landfill, but parking on any road is technically illegal. So if you bring a couple bags of trash with you to leave at the landfill, a person can enter. : ) Good birding, John Herman ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
