I've also noticed birds singing    this time of year  in spite of the cold and ice we can have.

The days are getting longer, even house plants look perkier and start blooming.

Always thought Valentines Day was  for the animals and birds.

Next listen for drumming woodpeckers       Often hammering on flag poles

and road sign poles - prompting the neighbor to say   dumb bird there's no bugs on poles

But we know they are not dumb         they are creating a sound that resonates far beyond

wood.      Expanding sound  undoubtedly expands the little Downy's territorial hopes,

don't you think he is capable of scaring them all away if he has a flag pole.
