After I saw what looked like a Common Raven in my yard, I sent an email for help to confirm. I greatly appreciate all input and so I have researched the Vultures. I kept feeling like I should just accept the opinion of you more experienced, professional birders but the pics didn't portray what I saw...?? My husband had left the house right after I saw the bird and fortunately SAW IT!! By that time it was 2 miles north of where we live. (Granted we live less than 10mi from Mi border) and he had a GREAT view of it!!! It was still soaring and he was able to clarify that it did NOT have a head of a Vulture but more of a crow but MUCH, MUCH bigger!! I just want EVERYONE to know that I GREATLY APPRECIATE AND ADMIRE your assistance on helping identify the bird. In our minds AT LEAST we feel it is definitely a Common Raven. Thanks to all who assisted me!! I love birding! Rachel S.
