On our little pond down here in Lawrence County I saw 7-8 ring-necked ducks
yesterday. Only one male, I think. The rest were all smaller and brown.
Would there be that many females? It's too early for those to be babies,
right? Plus this is not normal breeding range.

I'm not very knowledgeable of breeding times etc.
