Sorry for the late post, but a Lesser Frigatebird has been seen at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, SW of Findlay on Sunday, and again this morning. It takes to perching on the railing outside to nature center before retiring into the woods. It was initially seen in the vicinity of the feeders by the nature center. Since their natural food is oceanic fish, employees of the Hancock Park District have bought a supply of canned sardines and tossing them to the bird while it is in flight. It appears to have a preference to mustard sardines.
