The lake finally opened up out this way earlier this week. This morning I was surprised to see the ice had blown back in and the lake was again about 95% ice-covered. The shifting ice however got birds moving and there was a real nice movement of waterfowl. Birds of note were 4 white-winged scoters and glaucous gull.
