I stopped at Hoover Dam for about an hour this afternoon, and found that the unsettled weather had blown some migrants in and some migrants out. Waterfowl were almost absent from the spillway and lower reservoir, except for 3 Common loons, 2 cormorants, and 7 Red-br.mergansers. Gulls were also largely absent, with only a handful of Ring-bills & Bonapartes. Despite the wind, the sheltered area along the spillway below the dam had a good selection of landbirds including
1 E.Kingbird (my FOS and fairly early)
6 Tree Swallows
2 Cliff Swallows (my FOS and fairly late)
4 Rough-winged Swallows
3 Barn Swallows
6 Gnatcatchers
1 Ruby-cr.Kinglet
1 Yellow Warbler (my local FOS)
1 Yellow-throated Warbler
2 Yellow-rumped Warblers
