I just stepped outside and was also pleasantly surprised to hear first phoebe of the year - there is typically a nest under the neighbors porch and always nice to see them return! It was near a misty marshy area in the woods where I saw two mallards trying to lay flat on the ground. Maybe the mallard were looking for a nesting area. Good luck to them if they are nesting. I have seen large raccoons in this area that could be classified as small bears. > > Ken > > ______________________________________________________________________ > > Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society. > Please consider joining our Society, at www.ohiobirds.org/site/membership.php. > Our thanks to Miami University for hosting this mailing list. > > > You can join or leave the list, or change your options, at: > listserv.miamioh.edu/scripts/wa.exe?LIST=OHIO-BIRDS > Send questions or comments about the list to: [log in to unmask] ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
