Dick Hoopes reported the Red-throated Loon is still present - best viewed with a scope along Valley Road. It has been staying close to the east shoreline.

Also, 14 or more Great Egrets - best viewed FROM YOUR CAR in the boathouse parking lot. Look north toward the small bay or east toward the island. If you approach the bay the birds will leave so please enjoy them from your car so others have a chance to enjoy this unusual event.

Finally, over 30 Common Loons north of the causeway and 3 dark mantled gulls, one positively ID'd yesterday as a Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Gotta love birding in Geauga County!
