Morning walk on The Ridges
Time: 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Location: on the steps of the Ridges Auditorium on W Circle Drive in Athens, OH
The #1 birding location around Athens! We look for arriving warblers, songbirds, and more. Maximum walking distance: 2 miles round trip. Much of the walk is level, but there is an initial climb on steps and a road, and the trail through the woods (if we get that far) includes some moderately steep climbs and descents. Hiking shoes or boots with a good tread are recommended in case we do the loop through the woods. Steady rain will cancel the outing, but mist or light drizzle will not. Although the primary focus will be birds, Phil can also identify wildflowers and other plants for those interested. Guide: Phil Cantino (Athens Conservancy), joined by Stefan Gleissberg

Free but limited to 15 participants. Bring your binoculars or borrow from us (provided by Rural Action). For questions and to register, email [log in to unmask] with the subject “Bird Walk”; a confirmation will be sent back to you.

This event is part of a series of bird walks offered by the Athens Area Birders. Come out this Spring and discover our local bird life! With experienced guides, we explore special areas and habitats to find and learn about their avian inhabitants.
