It is presently 8:45AM Thursday morning. There is a Clay-colored Sparrow singing and visible in the northwest corner of the parking lot. It seems to be frequenting the top of the brush pile behind the second tree. Also at this unit of The Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, are about 30 breeding plumaged American Golden-Plovers, look in the far field toward the red barn. Some of the other birds present are Dunlin, Semipalmated Plover, Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotter Sandpiper, Chipping Sparrow, American Pipits, Least Sandpipers, and 2 juvenile Bald Eagles, just to name a few. The Boss Unit is located off of Benton-Carroll Road south of SR2.
